Oral rehydration can be taken in to prevent or reverse electrode and fluid depletion in adult and children. The latest remedies include Dioralyte, Dioralyte relief, electrolade, rapolyte, Oral rehydration salt such sodium chloride, potassium chloride.
Antimotility medicines such as Loperamide hydrochloride (Imodium) and Loperamide Hydrochloride and Simethicon (Imodium plus) in adults can be taken for acute diarrhoea after rehydration of lost fluid and electrolyte.
